Suffolk police say a fire was reported late Friday night in Kings Park.
Police say they received a call about the massive flames at around 11:30 p.m. Frank Pino, chief of the Kings Park Fire Department, says the flames took around an hour to control.
“We had an alarm sound for the Kings Park Fire Department. After arriving on scene, noticed that it was a fully involved, abandoned, vacant dwelling on the state property. No injuries. We had some support from our surrounding departments. Commack, Smithtown, East Northport. Northport. They were all here to help,” he said.
Video of the scene appears to show that the flames broke out at an abandoned psych building.
