Suffolk Police Commissioner Harrison’s final day on job will be in mid-December

News 12 has confirmed that his final day as Suffolk’s top cop will be in mid-December.

Harrison sent an internal email to his staff Thursday saying he would be stepping down from the role he has held for nearly two years.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said in a statement, “Our communities are safer, and the department is more equitable, accountable and transparent” because of Harrison.
