Suffolk PD: Man critically injured in LIE crash near Jake's 58 in Islandia

The LIE was shut down between exits 57 and 58.

Suffolk police say a man was critically injured after his vehicle left the Long Island Expressway and struck a tree in Islandia late Sunday afternoon.
Detectives say 27-year-old DanuelBragaglia, of Holbrook, was driving a 2003 Nissan 350Z westbound on the LIE when he crashed just after 5 p.m. near Jake's 58 Hotel & Casino.
The LIE was shut down between exits 57 and 58.
Bragaglia was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition.
Detectives say his car was impounded for a safety check.
