Suffolk OTB Racing Forum in Hauppauge now features the Village Idiot Pub.

The popular Long Island chain is opening its fifth location just steps away from the gambling floor.

Village Idiot Pub owners signed a three-year lease with Suffolk OTB and have given the space a facelift, saying they hope to attract all customers - gamblers and non-gamblers alike.

Suffolk OTB President & CEO Phil Boyle tells News 12 that he wants to create a sportsbook at the racing forum in the next year or two, which would be a first for Long Island. State laws currently prohibit venues like the racing forum from operating sportsbooks.
