Suffolk County votes delivered by hand due to concerns over recent cyberattack

It was a late night for election workers in Suffolk County, and voters should feel confident about the extra steps being taken to ensure every ballot is counted.
The Suffolk County Board of Elections apparently realized at some point in the evening that the only way to ensure their results would be uploaded with 100% accuracy would be to deliver some 1,500 memory cards from voting machines to its Yaphank headquarters.
That's because of the recent cyberattack that affected online systems countywide.
Election workers could be seen filing in as late as midnight with heavy-duty cases of voting results.
The addition of new passwords and security measures in the wake of the hack may have created last-minute confusion and uploading issues for remote voting locations, prompting the decision to ensure the most accurate results by having them delivered in-person.
