Starting Friday night and lasting through Monday, nearly every subway line around the city will have delays and diversions due to an MTA maintenance project.
According to the MTA, 18 out of 20 subway lines will be severely affected by the large-scale maintenance project. The MTA says repairs need to be made before cold weather hits, especially to trains that are outside and elevated.
For Bronx residents, service on the 5 train will be limited, skipping all stops between Dyre Avenue and 180th Street. Lines 1, 2 and 4 will also have many disruptions.
To help frustrated passengers, there will be free shuttle buses to get everyone where they need to go. MTA officials have also posted service advisories throughout the subway system.
