Some students got to see what life is like in the White House without leaving Long Island.
Long Island University Post has an exact replica of the executive mansion. As part of a program, the students were put in real life situations to how their decisions played out.
The event also included a discussion with relatives of former presidents, including Tweed Roosevelt, the great-grandson of Theodore Roosevelt.
The program coincides with National Civics Day, which celebrates the importance of learning the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
