Students from Ward Melville Senior HS win Long Island High School Regional Science Bowl

Ward Melville High School in East Setauket beat out dozens of schools across Long Island at the Regional Science Bowl.

A total of 24 high school across Long Island took part in this year's Long Island High School Regional Science Bowl at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton.
Students who competed in the prestigious competition represent future aspiring leaders in the field of engineering, mathematics and the sciences.
Teams that made it through the preliminary round then competed in a head-to-head elimination competition.
Students tells News 12 that the annual event reinforces their love of the sciences.
It's so cool how scientists are always improving on our lives every single day with the work they do, this is inspiration," says Daniel Brenner, of Long Beach High School.
Ward Melville High school came in first place at the competition. The school will compete at the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C. in April.
