Several high school students from Eastern Suffolk BOCES took part in a ride-along with members from Public Safety Enforcement in the Town of Islip.

"Ever since I got here, I felt I learned a lot, says 17-year-old, Baldric Pagan, from Sachem High School East.

The hands-on internship is a partnership between the Town of Islip and BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services).

"It gives students a real-life taste on what a career could be in different avenues," says Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter. The program provides students with opportunities to learn in the field in various departments within the Town of Islip.
