The remnants of Debby brought strong winds, rain and rip currents to the South Shore Friday.
The wind churned up rough surf and kept many out of the water.
The rip current risk is expected to last into Saturday. Long Beach lifeguard supervisor John Skudin says to pay attention when coming out to the beach this weekend.
"Swim near a lifeguard and don't swim in a place that's not lifeguarded this weekend,” he said. “Listen to what they say because if they say knee deep, it's knee deep. It's not waist deep."
There could be red flags on beaches Saturday depending on the conditions.
