A new set of bills is looking to make it easier for people to obtain a license to become a legal vendor.

Advocates say this legislative package, known as the Street Vendor Reform Platform is looking to give small businesses a real chance at making money.

One local vendor says her time on the waitlist in the current system has been unfair, as she still has over 7,000 people in front of her.

Back in 2021, City Council passed Local Law 18 to introduce over 4,000 licenses. Since then, only 14 new permits have been issued.
