Federal corruption retrial delayed for Ed Mangano

The federal corruption retrial for former Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano has been delayed until at least January.
News 12 was told that the delay is due to new government wiretaps in the case from restaurateur Harendra Singh that need to be translated into English.
Singh, the prosecution’s star witness, testified in the first trial that he had a quid pro quo relationship with Nassau officials, who helped him secure millions in town-backed loan guarantees and county contracts.
The former executive’s wife, Linda Mangano, is charged with lying to the FBI.
In May, a mistrial was declared in their first trial.
