WHAT'S NEW: Scattered showers, on and off heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms along with gusty winds will be in store for Long Island overnight into Saturday morning. Friday was a warm day, where we had a high of 69, breaking the record for the day (the previous record was 68 in 2020).
WHAT'S NEXT: Temperatures will be dropping from the unseasonably high levels they have been recently, down to typical levels for this time of year on Sunday. But then for next week, we trend colder than average.

OVERNIGHT: Pockets of moderate to heavy rain with everyone seeing strong sustained winds and gusts 40-50+ mph. A wind advisory is in effect until Saturday 10 a.m. Lows: low-60s.
SATURDAY: STORM WATCH (A.M.) – On and off batches of moderate to heavy rain in the morning (from West to East), then drier conditions in the afternoon. The rain will wrap up by 9/10 a.m. at the latest. Expect strong winds with gusts of 25-50 mph and rough ocean/sound wave activity through the 10 a.m.-12 p.m. timeframe. The wind advisory is taken down at 10 a.m. Highs: Mid-60s to low-70s. Lows: Mid- to upper-40s.
