Stony Brook University has made a big jump on the Best
Colleges for 2023 list compiled by U.S. News & World Report.
It’s now No. 77 among national universities, up 16 spots
from last year. It’s the highest ranking the publication has ever given the
school.
Stony Brook is also ranked No. 31 among public
universities.
“During the past few years, Stony Brook has endured a
period of unparalleled challenges and seismic change. I am so proud of the way
this university has adapted and continued to grow,” said Maurie McInnis, the
university’s president in prepared remarks.
U.S. News & World Report reports on 1,450 public and
private colleges and universities with U.S. bachelor’s degree-granting
institutions on 17 measures of academic quality.
