State police said Saturday night two suspects who fled the scene of a crash that killed two people and left a child hospitalized had been located.

It stemmed from a police chase Friday night in the Town of Woodbury.

Police said it began when they attempted to pull over a vehicle at around 10 p.m. The driver fled, leading to a chase that reached speeds of up to 100 mph.

Police say they terminated the pursuit.

But soon afterward, police say the fleeing driver struck two other vehicles while traveling westbound on Route 6. Two individuals were killed, and a child was taken to a hospital.

Two suspects fled on foot following the crash, according to police. Officers at the scene told News 12 that a search was conducted throughout the woods of Harriman State Park overnight.

Police at the scene said they brought in K-9 units, drones, a helicopter, and the Orange County SWAT team.

State police said there was no threat to the public as of Saturday night.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office and New York State Park Police are assisting the New York State Police with the investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has any information is asked to call SP Middletown at 845-344-5300.
