Middle school students at St. Anne's School in Garden City put together an assembly and invited dozens of local veterans to say thank you.
The children made cards, sang songs and completed research projects to learn about the military in honor of Veterans Day.
"I learned about the Air Force, Army and the Coast Guard," said sixth grader Sofia Racwalski. "I learned a lot about them and how amazing the work they do for us."
