Splish Splash, no cash: Water park goes cashless for 2022 season
Splish Splash will only accept credit, debit or mobile payments beginning May 28, the start of the water park’s 2022 season.
For those with cash only, there will be kiosks inside the park where guests can put as much as $500 on a prepaid card. It can be used throughout the park, and any leftover money can be used at any location that accepts MasterCard.
According to Splish Splash, the switch will allow for “a smoother and safer experience for guests.”
“Not having to handle cash will speed up Splish Splash operations, especially in food and retail shops,” said Mike Bengtson, general manager of the park, in prepared remarks.
The development could mean the end to the fluorescent waterproof cylinder money holders that guests have been bringing to Splish Splash since it opened in 1991.
The park currently has 20 slides and attractions, two wave pools, several kiddie areas and the famed Lazy River.
