It's a day of learning and fun for the whole family.
News 12 visits Museum Row in Garden City on this
Road Trip: Close to Home.
First stop, the
Cradle of Aviation. Inside it's huge! There's plenty of room to stay six feet apart, but you need to wear your mask.
There are 75 planes and spacecraft on display.
Get up close and be wowed by the size of the planes, and learn about Long Island's rich aerospace history.
A must-see, the museum's crown jewel is the real Grumman Lunar Module. It's only one of two that would have gone to the moon.
The Cradle of Aviation Museum is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the
F-14 Tomcat, one of the most iconic Navy fighters ever built on Long Island and of all time.
Next stop, the
Nassau County Firefighters Museum and Education Center.
See equipment and trucks from Long Island's past, and you can even go inside one!
Your little ones will enjoy learning fire safety from their many interactive activities.
One family at a time can go inside a simulator, and learn about what firefighters do.
Both museums are open Thursday through Sunday.
