4h agoSouthampton Town Police Chief Steven Skrynecki has died at 69.
Skrynecki joined the East End force following a 42-year career with the Nassau County Police Department.
He started as a patrol officer in 1974 and rose through the ranks of the force to chief.
Skrynecki retired from the Nassau Police Department six years ago to take charge of Southampton's 100 officers.
The family has not yet released the details about funeral services.
