Southampton police say they've located three of four missing sex offenders.

The four men had been living in Suffolk's trailers for homeless sex offenders, which were shut down a week ago. Sex offenders have since been put in shelters and other locations across the county. But Southampton Town Police Sgt. Lisa Costa says these four men had been off the grid for much longer than that. She says police have been working on some of the cases for several months.

Police put out "wanted" posters last week. Tips from the public then led police to three of the four missing sex offenders.

Now that Suffolk's sex offender trailers have been shut down, it's not yet clear whether it will be easier to track the convicted criminals. But many say there are now more resources going toward keeping tabs on sex offenders in the county.

Sex offenders who are not complying with Megan's Law can be reported on the "Parents for Megan's Law" website.
