It's the ultimate day camp! News 12 Long Island's Erin Colton headed to Merrick to see what a day was like at the Coleman Country Day Camp.

Director Ross Coleman says his staff works 10 months for the two months the kids are at camp, making sure all the facilities are ready and there are always new and exciting games each year.

The camp features a full baseball field and soccer field, as well as basketball and volleyball. In addition, at the Pioneer Station, there is a full petting zoo along with ceramics and arts and crafts. In the Little Red Schoolhouse, there are dance, cooking and music lessons. When it's too hot, kids can cool off in one of the three pools or the water park.

And for those rainy days, there is the 15,000-square foot field house, or Grand Playhouse, which has indoor sports, martial arts and a rock-climbing facility.

From the Dream Dome to the Big Bob Railroad, Coleman says there's something for every kid at the camp. He adds that lots of children come back year after year because of all the amenities and the feeling of community.
