Digging out of the snow was a task for homeowners across Long Island Monday but for some, the job carried more of a chill.
In one Plainview neighborhood, frigid temperatures inside accompanied the mounds of snow outside. Some residents spent more than 36 hours with no power and accused the Long Island Power Authority of lying about when the power would be restored.
LIPA says the problem lines run through residential back yards, plus they had to work in conjunction with Verizon, which owns some of the damaged equipment.
