Up to 150 Afghan families may soon relocate to Yonkers - some of them to the same building where DMX once lived.
Newly renovated apartments at 80 School St. are now available.
The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers tells News 12 it just applied with the U.S. Department of Housing to resettle the Afghan families now living on military bases.
The families were evacuated from their homes as U.S. troops withdrew from Afghanistan last year.
Many of the refugees were in danger because they worked with the U.S. military.
According to Human Rights First, there are an estimated 7,000 Afghan refugees still waiting to leave military bases in five states.
