Smithtown's Craig Biggio introduced as Hall of Famer

Smithtown's Craig Biggio was officially introduced as a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Wednesday afternoon. A ceremony honoring the newly elected members was held at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan.

Smithtown's Craig Biggio was officially introduced as a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Wednesday afternoon.
A ceremony honoring the newly elected members was held at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan.
Biggio, a seven-time all-star, will be inducted along with dominant pitchers Randy Johnson, John Smoltz and Pedro Martinez.
The Kings Park High School alum spent 20 years with the Houston Astros and racked up 3,060 hits along the way. He credited his Sachem Youth League coach Martin Hasenfuss for his development as an elite baseball player.
The 2015 Hall of Fame class is the biggest since 1955.
