It may be 20 miles from the beach, but there’s now a whole “shoreline” of fun just waiting for people at Six Flags Great Adventure.
In just a year and a half, Six Flags Great Adventure transformed the former footprint of the Green Lantern into a Jersey Shore boardwalk, known as Shoreline Pier.
Ryan Eldridge, the director of marketing, showed News 12 the views from the “Hypno Twister,” one of five new rides at Shoreline Pier.
“All five rides are rides you can do with your littles, and it’s supposed to help with the generational gap we have sometimes at Great Adventure where it doesn’t feel like you have a lot to do with your kids.”
“We have seven new shows for Boardwalk Nights, we have a teeter board, we have sway poles, wheel of destiny, bands that you just saw, a funnel cake eating contest,” said Derek DiPasquale, Six Flags entertainment manager.
If you look closely, you’ll see signs making you feel right at home on the boards, like “no bike riding” next to an actual dunescape complete with fencing.
“It’s super dead-on. It’s awesome. I would always be at Long Branch, Morey’s Pier in Wildwood, it’s so dead-on. It’s awesome. Little touches to detail,” said Youtuber and roller coaster enthusiast “El Toro” Ryan.
Rising in the shadows of Shoreline Pier, a yet-to-be-named purple giant.
“Project Purple is now well over 300 feet tall and in the next couple of days we might be topping it off," said Mike Fehnel, president of Six Flags Great Adventure.
For more on that new ride, Fehnel says to “stay tuned!”
