Sisters charged with gang assault in violent stabbing of Mastic man
The girls are scheduled to go before a judge later this morning.

Sisters from Bay Shore are in police custody this morning, accused of carrying out a gang-style attack on a Mastic man whose family told News 12 exclusively was trying to protect his younger sister from bullying.
Suffolk County police charged Diamond King, 18, and Myia King-Harrison, 19, with first degree gang assault and first degree assault in the attack.
According to police, the two stabbed a Mastic man, identified by his family as Nico Cassetana, 21, outside the victim's home near the corner of Dana and Dean avenues on Saturday around 10:20 p.m.
Nico's father, Lionel Cassetana, spoke exclusively with News 12 from Stony Brook University Hospital, where Nico was airlifted following the attack.
Cassetana claims the girls' intended target was Nico's 14-year-old sister, who a group of girls had victimized in the past. The father said Nico stepped in to break up the fight when he was stabbed in the back.
Nico underwent multiple surgeries and is in stable condition, but remains in a medically induced coma.
Police have not said why the older girls were targeting the younger teen.
King and King-Harrison are scheduled to face a judge for an arraignment later this morning at First District Court in Central Islip.
