Rep. George Santos has declined an invitation to
join other freshman lawmakers in a meeting with President Joe Biden today, according
to Newsday.
The refusal to attend is
coming as a new poll by Siena College finds a majority of New Yorkers want the
Republican to resign.
A total of 59% of registered
voters think Santos should step down. Meanwhile, 17% said he should stay in
office
About 56% of those polled expressed their
disapproval of the newly elected representative and 56% of Republicans
disapprove of the congressman. 16% had a favorable view on Santos. {###}
