A Suffolk corrections officer has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the county's sheriff.
The Sheriff's office tells News 12 that the employee last worked at the Riverhead facility on March 14.
Any staff that worked with him have been told to stay home and self-quarantine.
The sheriff says due to the officer's position he had limited contact with inmates. They are still monitoring prisoners for any signs of illness.
