See the extraordinary trees and beautiful blooms at Bailey Arboretum on this Road Trip: Close to Home.
Stroll the gorgeous green grounds of the 42-acre accredited arboretum in Locust Valley - it's a living museum.
There is a walnut tree that is 250 years old, and the Dawn Redwoods there are among the biggest in the country.
There are trails to walk, and as long as they're on a leash, feel free to bring your furry friends.
For your little ones, there's the children's habitat - from making music to running on the lawn, kids can play all day.
There are plenty of spots to take a seat and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Find hidden gems on the grounds like a German Castle sculpture.
Picnic by the picturesque ponds, and cross a bridge to Turtle Island where you'll see turtles!
And walk through the sensory garden.
The arboretum is open Wednesday through Sunday year-round.
