Law enforcement officials are asking for the public’s help to find the person who left a dog tied to a fence on the side of the road in Nassau County.
Nassau police officers rescued the animal near the intersection of Incinerator Road and Bay Boulevard in the Inwood area.
The neglected male canine was discovered in a crate, with no food or water, and he was tethered to a fence by a rope around his neck, according to the Nassau District Attorney’s office.
He’s currently being treated for various injuries from overall lack of care and being left out in the elements over the course of several days.
The Nassau SPCA is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest and is encouraging anyone who may recognize the dog to contact then via email at crueltystoppers@ncspca.us or by calling 516-THE-SPCA.
The Nassau District Attorney’s Animal Crimes Unit is investigating.
