A Kings Park cardiologist has been missing for nearly a week.
Neighbors say Dr. Trevor Verga, 45, say he was married with two children and that there were no signs of trouble before his disappearance.
Police say Verga spoke to a family member over the phone at around 1 a.m. Sunday. He was reported missing 13 hours later.
Verga's 2019 Dodge Ram was located in the parking lot of Long Beach Town Park in Nissequogue on the same day.
Police say video surveillance shows a man matching Verga's description exiting the vehicle at around 2:30 a.m.
Police say they are not releasing surveillance video.
Verga is affiliated with Stony Brook University Hospital and has a practice in East Setauket.
Mastic Beach resident Bob Forrester says Verga implanted a pacemaker into his chest in 2011.
"You don't want to think the worst," Forrester says. "Hoping everything is alright, you know, he just maybe decided to take time off or something."
News 12 requested an interview with Verga's wife, but she declined.
Anyone with information about Verga's whereabouts can call 631-852-8452.
