Two sisters were not on the bus home from a Huntington elementary school Wednesday afternoon, sending their parents into a three-hour panic.

The 5-year-old and 7-year-old were not on the bus home from Flower Hill Elementary School, where they attend kindergarten and second grade.

Liz Barba, the girls' mother, says she called the Huntington Coach bus company and Flower Hill, but did not receive any concrete answers about her children's whereabouts.

The parents called the police and three hours later, a bus finally arrived with their children safe and sound.

They say they are still rattled by the ordeal and they want answers from the bus company as to how their daughters were left behind.

News 12 called Huntington School District Superintendent Jim Polansky who said the district is investigating the incident and will deal with the bus company if there are any shortcomings that need to be addressed.
