Let's talk important weather information. Right now. We're over here in the weather center with meteorologist Julian C Wright. And it is a wet day for just about everybody across the island. Absolutely. So it's been a good day if you just wanted to stay indoors and I had to go outside because it has been flat out just wet and gloomy for us and it's gonna be wet at least for the east end until we get into the later parts of this evening. But as of right now, we are looking for that rain to be clearing out for much of Nassau County. So counting still gonna be dealing with it for the next couple of hours. But as we move into what we can expect for the rest of this evening, heading into tonight, just notes, it's not just the rain, it's gonna be a bit of an issue, but visibility as well as fog is gonna be really popping up for us throughout much of the island, not just for now, but later into the night and over into Monday morning as well. So be prepared for some lowered visibility behind the rain that is going to be clearing out for us. But the the news is our skies will clear up heading into our Monday morning. So we are looking for a sunny start, but temperatures themselves are also gonna be on the mild end. We're looking back to the lower fifties and not expecting much more in regards to rain being uh any kind of accumulation as we get into the rest of tonight. Now take a look at our overlook our overnight outlook. We are seeing temperatures into the lower forties, mid forties throughout much of the island. Heading into Monday. Low fifties is what we're expected for. Our daytime, high clouds will build late. And then for Tuesday, Wednesday, we're gonna be cooling right back down as forties will return, bringing a chill to our week, but then we're gonna rebound to the fifties next weekend. So that's one thing to be mindful of is that it's not gonna be chilly for too long. But again, heading into tomorrow, we are gonna be looking at the cloud cover to build into our Monday afternoon. Quick look at our 10 day forecast, chilly weather will be heading in for us, especially for Hanukkah.

Scholar Athlete: Andrew Miller  

time now to meet this week's winner of the news. 12 scholar athlete award sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union. He's Northport high school senior. Andrew Miller Andrew is a three sport athlete because he says he just likes being busy and he's really darn good at all of them in basketball. He's one county and league championships and he's got the tigers in the playoff hunt again this season. He's also a six ft 3 £220 tight end and defensive end in football. Look at him, take off here, great catch as a jew junior. He was all division and this season he made the all county team. But his best sport is lacrosse where he's pretty much all everything including all american. He's the tigers defensive stopper, the county's long stick midi of the year. But preventing goals doesn't always get to the glory, scoring does and Andrew loves getting the chance to do that too. You know, Poe goals. That's that's what they call it. It's just it's great. It's very, it's difficult. It is it is difficult. But I think that's why I like it because it's so it's so difficult. You have to work at it and keep practicing and when you combine Andrew's lacrosse skills with that work ethic, you get the kind of young man that is perfect for West Point, that's where Andrew is heading. He'll follow in the footsteps of grandparents and great grandparents who served in the army. Other teams wanted him but like the old army slogan. Andrew wanted to be all, he could be the environment there when I visited was was the best among among all schools. I've seen. The leadership that is taught at West Point is first class and there there aren't any better leaders that develop outside of West Point. Andrew also a senior patrol leader of his Boy Scout troop and for his Eagle Scout project, he made a table and magazine holders for the Northport Veterans Hospital, donated nearly $1000 to the home. He's chair of the Math Honor Society, member of the Finance Academy and he has a four point oh G P. A. And like all of our winners, Andrew gets a $1000 scholarship from Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
