Savor the Bronx Restaurant Week kicks off today throughout the borough
Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. kicked off the 10th annual Savor the Bronx Restaurant Week today.
Even as the coronavirus pandemic has restricted indoor dining, residents can still enjoy food from their favorite Bronx eateries through takeout, delivery and outdoor dining.
The annual event is put on by the Bronx Tourism Council and will run through Jan. 17.
This year, 13 Bronx eateries will take part in Savor the Bronx Restaurant Week.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on our borough, and our restaurants have been hit particularly hard," Diaz Jr. says. "While we cannot enjoy a meal out in the traditional way we are used to, we are encouraging everyone to get out and patronize these wonderful eateries that are offering great Savor the Bronx deals."
The borough president also thanked the local business owners for their contributions to the vibrant cultures of the Bronx during the pandemic.
The executive director of the Bronx Tourism Council says they are grateful for all the restaurants that have agreed to participated in Savor The Bronx Restaurant Week at home, and they are looking forward to when people can break bread together in person.
Residents can connect with this year's event and share their meals by using #SavorTheBronx on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
