George Santos, who was recently expelled from Congress, announced Thursday that he is making another run at public office.

He made the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter, during President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.

This time, Santos says he is challenging Republican Rep. Nick LaLota in New York’s 1st Congressional District.

Santos faces 23 federal charges due to accusations of misusing campaign funds and lying about his finances. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
