More than 300 young Superstorm Sandy victims got free school supplies today ahead of the new school year.

The children picked out everything from backpacks to shoes to winter coats at a back-to-school event for victims of the October superstorm.

The National Council of Jewish Women Peninsula put together the event, which was held in Lynbrook.

Organizers say more than 300 people, stores and sponsors donated to the event.
