Some Sachem Central School District students were left stranded on Wednesday on the first day of school after buses failed to show up.

The superintendent says it could happen again Thursday. He says multiple buses never showed up and others were late.

The district is blaming the bus company WE Transport.

Jeaneille Clarke had to drive her 4-year-old son with special needs to his first day of kindergarten.

"Today came and no bus showed up to my house," says Clarke. "I got to the school, no buses were there."

WE Transport officials released a statement saying, "WE Transport is dedicated to providing safe and reliable transportation and is working closely with the school district to address bus route issues as students return to school."
