Rye Brook residents turned to News 12 for help after they saw a fight break out on their street.

It happened on Maywood Avenue on Wednesday around 1 a.m. Video shows to News 12 shows a group of people fighting.

Rye Brook's mayor tells News 12 that police were called to the street. He says one person was taken to the hospital and released, but no charges have been filed.

News 12 was told police couldn't get detailed information from people at the scene.

News 12 spoke with a man who says it all unfolded outside his home.

"My dog was barking and I just heard screaming out the window. I looked out and saw at least a dozen people on the front lawn with baseball bats," said John Porretta.

It's not clear what led up to the altercation.

A spokesperson for the Port Chester Public Schools tells News 12 that Port Chester Police notified the district about the incident because it happened near the high school.

News 12 was told that no students were involved.

Calls to the police department were not returned.
