A Roosevelt man has been accused of raping a woman with autism over the course of three years.
Prosecutors say 62-year-old Steven Harrison repeatedly raped the woman while employed at a nonprofit that helps both adults and children with disabilities.
They say Harrison was a driver for AHRC Nassau.
"Unfortunately, these people are out there," said James Donley, of Roslyn.
The alleged assaults began in 2022 and continued up until two weeks ago.
Harrison would allegedly park at The Home Depot on Jericho Turnpike in Jericho on his route driving the victim home and abuse her in the van.
Prosecutors say the 27-year-old victim would tell him "no."
After an investigation police say they arrested Harrison on Tuesday at AHRC Nassau in Brookville.
In court, his defense lawyer said that Harrison worked there for 24 years.
Prosecutors say more victims are coming forward.
AHRC Nassau tells News 12 Harrison is currently suspended.
A spokesperson calls the allegations "deeply disturbing" and that the agency is cooperating with police.
In court, Harrison denied the charges. The judge held him on $250,000 cash bail.
Police say anyone else who believes they may be a victim should call them.
