Though most COVID-19 mandates have been dropped, kids are still required to wear masks indoors at school. That led to anger from some parents on Long Island.
A Ronkonkoma group rallied against the decision, which the state says is being done in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
The parent group called on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to change that decision in the waning days of the school year.
"A lot of the parents are fed up, it's time to stand up for our children, the districts are not able to step in, there's no just reason for the governor to have our children still sitting in masks, they're not dogs, they're ours, they're our children, it's our choice," says Theresa Ponce.
Parents also started a petition that they plan to send to the governor.
