The county executive says he will invest $1 billion in sewers for the county, urging the state to match the investment.
County Executive Ed Romaine says the state of the county is good, but he wants it to be the best.
During his nearly half hour address to the Suffolk County Legislature, he spoke on public safety efforts, addressing the opioid crisis, and stressed the need for improvements to county infrastructure.
He also called on Gov. Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers to invest in environmental projects such as sewers and drainage systems.
