Rockville Centre residents denounce village's response to Proud Boys' march through neighborhood

Dozens of Rockville Centre residents are demanding village officials denounce The Proud Boys – a far-right group that recent marched through the neighborhood.
The Proud Boys, an organization identified as a hate group paraded around the village Saturday, sparking anger from neighbors.
"Why are they here again?" says Meredith Walker, of Rockville Centre. "Why do they keep coming back?"
The Rockville Centre mayor released a statement, saying in part: "Such demonstrations are designed to provoke confrontation and publicity. This village will always protect public safety and will not be provoked into actions, which give unsavory groups the notoriety and public attention, which they crave."
The statement wasn't enough for some residents.
"I would like to see the town taking a stronger stance, and, you know, being louder that ideology not being welcome here," says Nathan Stange.
