Robbery suspect rams car into Paramus police vehicles in failed escape attempt
Authorities say the incident began when an officer spotted a White Mercedes-Benz associated with two recent handbag robberies at the Gucci store inside Westfield Garden State Plaza.

A violent attempt to escape police ended with the arrest of three suspects Thursday night in Paramus.
Authorities say the incident began around 9:15 p.m. when an officer spotted a White Mercedes-Benz associated with two recent handbag robberies at the Gucci store inside Westfield Garden State Plaza.
The vehicle was also believed to be involved in a Tenafly robbery reported earlier that day.
Officers found the vehicle in the Nordstrom parking area and ordered the people inside to exit.
The driver, now identified as 32-year-old Shaquan Cuttino, accelerated and rammed into multiple police patrol vehicles.
Officers removed him from the driver’s seat immediately, followed by the two passengers, 37-year-old Tyron N. Hartfield and 22-year-old Xavier Z. Granger.
The Paramus Police Department says one officer sustained a minor injury and was later hospitalized for treatment.
Cuttino has been charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit theft, resisting arrest, assault by auto, criminal mischief and eluding.
Hartfield is charged with obstruction, conspiracy to commit theft and resisting arrest.
Granger is charged with obstruction, conspiracy to commit theft and resisting arrest.
Police say the trio has since been remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending their first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court.
