In the heart of Carroll Gardens, Liz’s Book Bar offers a unique blend of coffee shop, wine bar and bookstore to create a warm and welcoming space for both book lovers and casual visitors.

With over 4,000 books for sale, the shop has become a popular spot for locals to unwind, enjoy specialty coffee or sip wine while discovering their next great read.

Founded by Maura Cheeks in honor of her late grandmother, Liz’s Book Bar is more than just a place to grab a drink or a book.

It serves as a community hub, hosting weekly events like author talks, book clubs and trivia nights that bring people together.

“It’s not meant to be a transactional place where you come in and you get a coffee or you get a book and you leave,” Cheeks says. “But it is meant to be more of a community space where people can hang out for a little bit of time.”
