Police say a kitten was found at the bottom of a trash can in Island Park.
The Nassau SPCA says the six- to seven-week-old kitten was found in the bottom of a garbage can yesterday.
Sanitation workers found the kitten under two bags of garbage. The animal was barely alive, but is being nursed back to health at the animal hospital.
Officials are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
