Two groups are offering $3,000 each for information on the dog found hanging from a tree in Bellport.
The pit bull mix's body was found Monday in a wooded area near Martha and Bellport avenues.
The Suffolk SPCA says the dog died from blunt force trauma and was strangled.
The Suffolk SPCA and the Guardians of Rescue are each offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Anyone with information can call the SPCA at 631-382-7722.
