(AP) - Police say a retired New York Citypolice officer shot himself to death on his driveway on Long Islandafter shooting an off-duty officer he thought was having an affairwith his police officer wife.

Fifty-one-year-old Cecil Ramsay was found dead outside his WestBabylon home Saturday morning. Suffolk County police say he shothimself in the head.

Police say Ramsay fired several shots into a car carrying hiswife, NYPD officer Dady Belfort, and a friend, NYPD officer EdwinChittick. Chittick was wounded in the hand. Police say Ramsaykilled himself after firing at his wife and Chittick.

Detectives say they don't believe Ramsay's wife was having anaffair as he suspected.
