Officials have announced that homeowners who need to re-register for STAR tax exemptions can do so starting today.
About 31 percent of Long Island homeowners still need to reapply for the benefits.
Officials say the state wants all homeowners on Long Island to reapply for the tax rebate as soon as possible. The deadline is Dec. 31.
Residents will be able to register through Friday at the Perry Duryea State Office Building in Hauppauge from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
