Rep. Santos to face House Ethics Committee probe, CNN reports

Santos has repeatedly said that he wouldn’t resign after a slew of what he called “resume embellishments” came to light following his election in New York’s 3rd District. He told CNN that he is “not concerned” about a House investigation.

Rep. George Santos, who has been under fire for lying about his past, will face a House Ethics Committee probe, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told CNN.
“Ethics is moving through, and if ethics finds something, we’ll take action. Right now, we’re not allowing him to be on committees from the standpoint of the questions that have arisen,” McCarthy told CNN’s Manu Raju.

News 12 reported today that about 50 Long Islanders were headed to Washington, D.C. to deliver a petition to House Republicans demanding a vote to expel Santos from Congress.
