Rep. Peter King has confirmed to News 12 that he's not ruling out a run for the White House in 2016.
The former chairman of the House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee says he is being encouraged by fellow lawmakers to seek the GOP nomination for president.
"You know, these people wanted someone who can seriously discuss national security, homeland security," King said. "I realize what this involves you know. I'm just looking at it, I'm not saying no."
Political experts tell News 12 that King's visibility and experience could appeal to general election voters.
